Just after 11pm on the evening of November 4th, shots rang out at the Circle K in the 9000 block of Youree Drive in Shreveport. When police arrived on the scene the found 31 year old Oquez Allen who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Shreveport Fire Department medics transported the severely injured Allen to Ochsner LSU health hospital. Allen later died from his injuries.

Shreveport Police and investigators with the Violent Crimes Bureau immediately began combing the area for witnesses, clues, and possible suspects. Working through the night checking surveillance videos and interviewing witnesses revealed that a suspect they detained at the scene, Devin Adams was in a verbal confrontation with the victim at the Circle K location. After the altercation, Adams allegedly produced a firearm and fired multiple shots into the victim's abdomen.

Oddly enough, Oquez Allen was also the victim of a shooting that occurred back in 2014, when he was shot multiple times after exiting his car in the Westwood Village Apartments in the 6700 block of Raspberry Lane. Allen was rushed to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Allen was also arrested in 2013 in a shooting that involved his ex-girlfriend. From the 2013 KEEL article:

"The woman told Shreveport police she was riding with the new boyfriend and a small child, when her ex -- 23-year-old Oquez Allen -- pulled alongside them near the intersection of Mansfield Road and Murray Street and started yelling.

They all stopped and Allen, armed with a handgun, got out of his car. The woman grabbed a small child from the car she was in and ran off, while Allen fired shots at her boyfriend. He fired back at Allen, but neither of them was hit.

Allen took off in a black Sedan, but he was caught less than an hour later at an apartment complex in the 3500 block of Milam Street. After an investigation, detectives charged Allen with illegal use of a weapon. He was also wanted on an outstanding warrant from another jurisdiction. No other arrests were made."
