Back on April 19th Shreveport patrol officers responded to reports of a robbery in the 6700 block of Buncombe Road. It was reported that the victim of the robbery got robbed by the alleged suspect while walking a friend back to his apartment.

After questioning and an investigation police were able to determine that the alleged suspect in question was 22 year-old Jawon Houston of Shreveport. The victim stated that Houston approached him near his apartment where the two then got in to a heated altercation.

Houston was able to wrestle the victim to the ground where Houston then, began strangling the victim with his hands. Houston removed the car keys from the victim's pocket while they were on the ground. Houston then released the victim, got in to the victim's car, and drove off. The victim tried following the car on foot to get a sense of which direction Houston was going. That's when Houston produced a gun, and pointed it at the victim before escaping with the car.

Robbery detectives assigned to the case were able to develop enough information to procure a warrant charging Houston with one count of Armed Robbery. Bond set at $150,000.00 dollars.

Detectives are asking anyone with information relative to Houston’s whereabouts to contact Shreveport Police at 318-673-7300. Those wishing to remain anonymous should contact Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373 or via the app, P3tips. Crime Stoppers will pay a reward for information leading to Houston’s arrest.
