The Shreveport Police Department has released information regarding an early morning shooting on Thursday that put a Shreveport man in the hospital.

Officers were called just after 4 a.m. to the scene of the crime on March 18 to a report of a shooting near the intersection of Thornhill Avenue near Linden Street.

Police say that a man was walking to his car on Thornihill when he was approached by a group several men. During the violent encounter, a gun was pulled by a man in the group and he was shot in the shoulder.

The gunman drove away in a silver SUV and Shreveport Police now say that the man injured in the shooting got in his vehicle and attempted to follow the group of men after suffering the gunshot wound to his shoulder.

After the police were called the victim was taken to a Shreveport hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
