A criminal investigation is underway into the disappearance of thousands of Hydrocodone pills from the Shreveport police property room. Police Chief Willie Shaw ordered the investigation after an audit performed by the department's Internal Affairs Bureau discovered more than 14-thousand Hydrocodone pills seized as evidence in a narcotics case were missing. A police supervisor his heading up the investigation with help from the FBI. Chief Shaw says once the investigation is complete, the Internal Affairs Bureau will conduct an administrative investigation to determine whether proper policies and procedures are being followed to ensure the integrity of evidence stored in the property room.
