The 39th Annual Sportspectrum River Cities Triathlon is this Sunday at Cypress Black Bayou in Benton, with more than 700 competitors and athletes from 22 different states!

The Horseshoe Riverdome is going to be packed Saturday night for the legendary band Chicago! This is a 21+ show and it's officially sold out, however, I did see some verified resale tickets available on Ticketmaster at the time of posting starting at $194 each.
Head to Harrah's Louisiana Downs in Bossier Saturday for the Louisiana Cup for lots of free family fun with bounce houses, face painting and, of course, the Louisiana Cup!
The Louisiana Cup Day program will feature six divisional stakes for accredited Louisiana-breds and the $60,000 Super Derby Prelude for 3-year-olds going a mile and one-sixteenth on the main track. The winner of which will earn an entry into the Super Derby Saturday, September 7th!
The day's events will also feature a fundraiser in honor and support of the Shantel Lanerie Cancer Breast Foundation. The Louisiana Thoroughbred Breeders Association will also award two $1,000 scholarships.
Texas country up and comer Corey Smith will be in Bossier City Friday night playing the Stage at Silverstar. This is a 21+ show and tickets will be available at the door, which open at 7 pm, for $30. Showtime is 8 pm.
Join the Krewe of Barkus and Meoux Sunday in Margaritaville's Paradise Theater for their 21st coronation, unveiling the krewe's new royalty ambassadors for the upcoming Mardi Gras season. The event runs from 11:30 am - 2 pm and features brunch, bottomless beer mugs, a DJ and tickets are still available for $50 - $55.
