Changes are being made to the plan for the inauguration of Governor John Bel Edwards and members of the legislature along with other statewide officials.

The ceremony will kick off at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, January 13th on the steps of the state capitol, but there will not be an inaugural ball that night because that's when LSU plays Clemson for the National Championship.

The morning begins with an invitation-only mass at St. Joseph’s Cathedral in downtown Baton Rouge. The ceremony then moves to the capitol where there will be limited seating, but the public will have access to standing room on the capitol grounds.

Will John Bel Edwards hold an inaugural ball later in the year:? Plans are tentatively being made for a ball to be held in New Orleans later in the year.
