There have been a lot of public obsessions over the years.  Some I can might see... others I just don't get at all.  Remember the Tamagotchi?

 According to a recent survey conducted by the website JeffBet, there were about 67,000 searches for Stanley cups in Louisiana.  The demand is, of course, across the country, but it seems to be focused mostly in the south.

There was a recent article in the Wall Street Journal about a woman in Sacramento, California who simply walked out of a local retailer with over $2500 worth of Stanley Cups. 

There have also been recent reports of customers fighting in Target over a limited-edition Valentine version display of Stanley Cups. This red version was exclusive to Target, which might explain why people felt they were going to miss out if they didn't grab theirs.

With 1, 453 monthly searches per 100,000 people, Louisiana ranks as Number 10 of the Top Ten States Obsessed with Stanley Cups. Only Nebraska and Arizona were outside the South among the top ten.
