Lottery Jackpots Continue to Rise
The fever has hit me again and I am not alone. The Mega Millions drawing for Tuesday night is worth $1.6 billion dollars and still growing. It could actually top the $2 billion dollar mark by the time of the drawing.
I checked out the sign on I-20 announcing the record jackpots and it has been updated:
The sign actually says 1.6 billion for Mega Millions and 620 million for Powerball. Ticket sales will be brisk all day today and tomorrow as the top prize continues to climb. It's the biggest lotto jackpot in U.S. history.
You can play Mega Millions in 44 states plus the District of Columbia and the U. S. Virgin Islands. Alabama, Alaska, Hawaii, Mississippi, Utah and Nevada are the states where you can't play Mega Millions. Residents in those states will be traveling to neighboring states to buy a ticket. Thousands of residents of Nevada made the drive to California to buy tickets. They often have to wait in line for more than 2 hours to buy a ticket.
