Shreveport Police have arrested two suspects following an attempted check fraud incident that led to a vehicle chase.

SPD was contacted after representatives from Barksdale Federal Credit Union, on Youree Drive, reported an attempt to cash a fraudulent check. The suspects, identified as Jaderria Williams and Desmond Anderson, fled from the location in a vehicle, leading officers on a chase that ended on Bert Kouns Industrial Loop after the car crashed.

Both Williams and Anderson were detained. Detectives with the Shreveport-Caddo Financial Crimes Task Force responded and continued the investigation.

Investigators learned that Williams had allegedly negotiated fraudulent checks at other Barksdale Federal Credit Union branches. The account involved had been frozen after the prior fraudulent activity was discovered, which prevented the attempted transaction at the Youree Drive branch.

Williams was booked into custody on charges of aggravated flight from an officer, hit and run, forgery, and a Louisiana Probation and Parole hold.

Anderson was booked into custody on charges of resisting an officer, possession of Schedule I marijuana, and a fugitive warrant out of Bossier Parish.

From SPD:

This arrest is another example of SPD patrol officers and Financial Crimes detectives working together to quickly identify suspects, protect victims, and hold offenders accountable.
