Local Man Charged in Daughter’s Death

When Shreveport firefighters responded to a medical call in the two-thousand block of Milam Street, they found 23-month-old Aliyah West unconscious and unresponsive. They rushed her to Willis-Knighton where she was later pronounced dead. Detectives and representatives of the Caddo Coroner's Office began investigating while crime scene investigators processed the residence. Based on information and evidence gathered during the investigation, police have now arrested and charged the little girl's father. 37-year-old Marquice McNeil has been booked into the Shreveport City Jail on a charge of second-degree murder.
