Missy Setters, Executive Director of the Walk Ons Independence Bowl, talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about Thursday's announcement of an agreement with the United States Military Academy to play in Shreveport's annual post-season contest.

Setters tells KEEL listeners that the deal, which will bring the Black Knights to Shreveport for three years, will be highly beneficial to both parties, citing the longstanding tradition of Army football excellence as a draw for area fans.

More info on the agreement from espn.com:

"West Point, one of only six independents playing at the FBS level, reached an agreement to play in the Walk-On's Independence Bowl in Shreveport, Louisiana, if they qualify for the postseason in 2020, 2022 and 2024.

A clause in the agreement allows Army to accept a bid from a different bowl game once in the three-year cycle with the Independence Bowl.

The Black Knights don't have a primary tie-in with a postseason bowl game this season. They are a backup to teams from the Mid-American Conference and Sun Belt in the Camellia Bowl."

This year's game will be played on December 26 with a 3pm kickoff time. For more Walk Ons Independence Bowl details, JUST CLICK HERE!
