Former Fire Chief Craig Mulford Loses a Round in Court
A Caddo Parish Judge says no to the legal requests from former fire chief Craig Mulford's legal team.
Caddo District Judge John Moseley denies several motions by former Shreveport Fire Chief Craig Mulford in the legal case against him. Mulford and former Assistant Chief Tommy Carpenter are charged in connection with an investigation into the abuse of mentally challenged men at Fire Station 8 in Shreveport.
The former fire department officials are accused of blocking or lying to investigators looking into the allegations.
Mulford faces malfeasance in office charges. His attorney Paul Carmouche claims there are at least four other people who could have been charged with malfeasance but were not. He had asked that the allegations be quashed because of selective prosecution. Mulford and Carpenter have pleaded not guilty.
