Shreveport Fire Captain Dies After Battling Cancer
It's a sad day today for the Shreveport Fire Department.
Captain Ralph Parker has died after a lengthy battle with cancer. You are encouraged to pray for the fire department and Captain Parker's family as they deal with this tragic loss.
Earlier this year, Captain Parker was diagnosed with cancer. The diagnosis came late in his medical battle. Doctors told him he had stage four pancreatic cancer. This immediately changed his life and his medical bills began piling up. Fundraisers were held across our community to help. But all of his friends and families came together to support him. This included the entire Shreveport Fire Department.
We honor Captain Parker today. Many firefighters held a vigil at the hospital when word was out that he was near the end. Now the fight is over and Captain Parker can be an angel we all pray to in heaven.
We say Rest in Peace and thank you for your service Captain Parker.
