
Find Out More About the I-49 Inner City Connector on KEEL Monday Morning at 6:40

The I-49 inner city connector is one of the hot topics we will be following this week.State Representative Roy Burrell tells KEEL News this is a project residents of Shreveport-Bossier should push for. Burrell says the economic impact with I-49 going through the inner city of Shreveport is more than 860 million dollars. He says forcing that traffic to loop around the city on 220 and 3132 will have a 400 million dollar impact. This means the difference is more than 400 million dollars!! But there"s a big problem. The Shreveport Housing Authority is moving forward with a plan to rebuild the Jackson Heights housing project on the land at I-49 and Murphy Strret. We will be talking more about this story this week. Kent Rogers with the Northwest Louisiana Council on Government will talk with us Monday morning at 6:40. He"ll tell us more about the economic impact the inner city connector could have on Shreveport-Bossier.
