Shreveport Chamber Boss: I-49 Connector Worth $800 Million [VIDEO]

Tim Magner, President of the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce, talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the importance of completing the I-49 Inner City Connector and its economic impact on the community.

The controversial highway plan is back in the news because of last week's announcement of a $100 million allocation for the project. The money is part of the $700 million Deepwater Horizon settlement which will go towards ten major infrastructure projects across the state.

Magner also contradicts a point made repeatedly by members of the Allendale Strong, who maintain that race - and the possible displacement of numerous African-American homeowners - is an unfair claim.
