
Drive-by Shooting Rattles Morningside Neighborhood In Shreveport
A young woman is wounded in a drive-by shooting in the Morningside neighborhood in Shreveport. Witnesses have reported hearing more than 30 shots on Randolph Street off of Hearne Avenue just before 2 this morning. Many of the bullets hit a home in that area. A woman in that home was wounded. Police say she was shot twice.
Reports indicate the woman was hit in her side and in the leg.
She was rushed to Ochsner LSU health with non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives converged on the scene and collected shell casings and talking to possible witnesses. They are also reviewing all surveillance video from the area.
No description of the car involved in this drive-by shooting has been released.

2nd Early Morning Shooting in 2 Days in Shreveport
Just a day ago, there was another early morning shooting that left a young woman dead and 2 others wounded. That shooting happened on Pete Harris Drive in front of the Levingston Motel. Detectives are searching for suspects in that shooting.

What Is Shreveport Doing to Fight Crime?
Shreveport has been taking steps to bring better crime fighting efforts into the neighborhoods. Cameras have been installed all over town and those cameras are connected to the real time crime center. SPD is also opening up police substations to bring officers out into our neighborhoods. The first substation opens on Monkhouse Drive on Thursday afternoon.
