Mark Cooper, Chief of Staff for Governor John Bel Edwards, talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the recently concluded National Governor's Association Summit on State Cybersecurity.

The conference, which was co-hosted by Edwatds and Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, attracted a number of state chief executives, homeland security experts and cyber security specialists from across the nation.

A summary of the event from webcvent.com:

"As the only national meeting focused on state cybersecurity, this unique event convened state homeland security advisors, chief information officers, chief information security officers, governors’ policy advisors, National Guard leaders, and others from all 55 states and territories to explore cybersecurity challenges and promising practices. Over the course of two days, participants engaged in a series of interactive sessions and breakouts discussing countering the newest threats, disruption response planning, workforce development, and much more."

Cooper also tells KEEL listeners about how northwest Louisiana - specifically regional universities - are expanding their curricula to involve more and more students in that rapidly evolving field.
