SHREVEPORT, LA - We are now getting into the home stretch for the election. Early voting wraps up on Saturday. Election day is Saturday, October 14.
You will have a last chance to hear from all six candidates for Sheriff of Caddo Parish during a community forum next week.

The Broadmoor Neighborhood Association will host the gathering at 6:30pm on Tuesday October 10 at Broadmoor Presbyterian Church on Grover Place. BNA will serve refreshments beginning at 6pm.

BNA President Bonita Crawford says all six candidates vying to replace Sheriff Steve Prator have confirmed they will attend.  They are:

Shayne Gibson is currently police chief in Greenwood, Louisiana

Pat Gilley is a practicing lawyer in Caddo Parish.

Eric Hatfield is a Chief Deputy at Caddo Parish Constable's Office.

Hersy Jones a Harvard Law School graduate and an ordained minister.

John Nickelson attorney and former Shreveport Councilman

Henry Whitehorn most recently CAO for Shreveport, but he also served as police chief in Shreveport and several other law enforcement positions.

The Board Members of the BNA will be asking the questions of the candidates.

Broadmoor has hosted political candidate forums since the neighborhood association was founded in 1987.

This will be the second forum of the day involving the candidates for Sheriff of Caddo. All six are also expected to attend the North Shreveport Business Association luncheon on Tuesday. But that event is sold out.
