Caddo Grand Jury Brings 7 Murder Indictments
Late last week, a Caddo Parish Grand Jury brought over a dozen charges against individuals for a large number of crimes. More than half of those crimes were Second-Degree Murder charges.
According to a release from the Caddo Parish District Attorney's Office, here are the individuals who were indicted by the Grand Jury on murder charges:
Tra'Davion Danthony Hughes, 22, is charged with Second-Degree Murder in connection with the Dec. 6, 2020, slaying of Eric Brownlee Jr. Mr, Brownlee, 22, was shot and mortally wounded in the 4000 block of Jewella Avenue.
Joshua James Parks, 26, is charged with Second-Degree Murder in connection with the Dec. 18, 2020, slaying of Edward Lattin. Mr. Lattin, 34, was shot multiple times in the 2800 block of DeSoto Street.
Shonda Cameron Walker, 35, and Ricky Ray Rios, 43, are charged with Second-Degree Murder in connection with the Dec. 1, 2020, slaying of Travis Smiley. Mr. Smiley, 37, was shot and killed in the 3600 block of Colquitt Road.
Jayron Tyquin Kelly, 20, Christian Allen Gandy, 19, and Torenzo Bunnery, 17, are charged with Second-Degree Murder in connection with the Nov. 29, 2020, slaying of Terrance Washington, and with Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property, 6111 Lexington Ave., on the same date. Mr. Washington, 20, was shot and killed at a residence on Lexington Avenue.
Desmond Lattimer Johnson, 26, is charged with second-degree murder in connection with the Dec. 15, 2020, slaying of Reginald Lenard Young. Mr. Young, 52, was shot in the 300 block of Jordan Street.
Devoris Antonio Hardy, 20, is charged with Second-Degree Murder in connection with the Dec. 6, 2020, slaying of Jacoby Ware. Mr. Ware, 24, was shot multiple times in the 7000 block of Pines Road.
Derek Washinton Gore, 47, is charged with Second-Degree Murder in connection with the Aug. 10, 2020, slaying of Jessie Gobert Jr. Mr. Gobert, 54, was shot and beaten in the 3300 block of West 70th Street.
These are not convictions, all of those listed above have simply been indicted by a Grand Jury on the charges listed. They are presumed innocent until proven guilty. If any of these individuals are convicted of Second-Degree Murder, Louisiana law says they will be punished with life in prison without the benefit of paroles, probation, or suspended sentence.
