Rob Broussard, President of the Broadmoor Neighborhood Association, talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about Tuesday night's meeting. The group will be addressed by Shreveport Police Chief Alan Crump, who will address the neighborhood's concerns about an increase in crime.

The meeting, which will be held Tuesday evening at 6 at the Broadmoor Presbyterian Church gym, will focus on crime in SPD District 5. Broussard tells KEEL listeners that the Broadmoor neighborhood "feels left out" when it comes to an increased police presence across the city. Says Broussard: "Our traditionally stable neighborhood has become a hotbed of crime." He adds that according to the SPD's own numbers, Broadmoor has fallen victim to "103 tactical crimes, more than double any other district in Shreveport." The President adds that Broadmoor has already had two murders in 2018 and area residents "shouldn't have to put themselves behind walls."
