There is a possibility that the Shreveport-Bossier metro might not be that interested in Halloween this year. What is going on?

Our Shreveport-Bossier City metro area currently ranks at the bottom of Louisiana metros for Halloween search interest, according to Google Trends. Residents across Caddo and Bossier parishes appear disconnected from the upcoming October holiday.

Halloween traditionally serves as a focal point for the SBC entertainment industry, with massive parties and events. However, search engine data indicates a drop in regional engagement for Halloween events and haunted attractions.

This lack of online momentum raises some questions for sure. Because when you've got a city as haunted as Shreveport, Halloween is usually a slam dunk.

Louisiana Google Trends Halloween Data

The Shreveport-Bossier City metro ranks dead last among the state for Halloween interest, according to Google Trends search metrics. The New Orleans metro securely holds the #1 position, followed by Alexandria at #2, and Lake Charles sitting at third.

Lafayette and Baton Rouge also outpace SBC in the rankings. Shreveport-Bossier City currently sits tied for the bottom position with the Monroe area.

Shreveport Bossier City Halloween Events

Despite low search volume, the Shreveport-Bossier City region offers a full schedule of events. The calendar includes the Spooky Symphony at Caddo Common Park, corn mazes, and even NecroManor Haunted House taking over a car wash! This fall provides families with music, scares, and art from downtown Shreveport to Bossier City.

Multiple residential areas maintain their status as top trick-or-treating neighborhoods in the state as well. Families across the metro have access to established spots for evening candy distribution...and great yard scares. Shreveport is historically known for active neighborhoods during the holiday...driving heavy foot traffic annually.

You can tell that retailers also have respect for our corner of Louisiana. Spirit Halloween has once again opened multiple locations across the market to capture local demand. They secured retail spaces in both Shreveport and Bossier City for the season. Corporate retail investment suggests that local consumer demand remains steady, regardless of online tracking metrics.

So while we might be asking questions about why our area seems uninterested online, maybe its because we're too busy celebrating Halloween in-person.
