Term Limits Organizers Get Major Win in Bossier Court
BOSSIER CITY, LA - This looks like a major win for the organizers of the petition calling for term limits in Bossier City. Bossier District Judge Parker Self has ruled and ordered the City of Bossier City and the City Council to "perform its non discretionary/ mandatory duty of calling an election to submit to the voters the proposed propositions which would serve to amend the City Charter as proposed in this petition."

This ruling now puts the ball squarely in the court of the Bossier City Council. The panel will now have to decide if they will abide by this ruling or appeal Judge Self's ruling to the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals.
Take a Look at the Court Decision:
The Bossier City Council has a meeting set for today, but the term limits issue is not on the agenda. It would take a unanimous vote of the Council to add the matter to the agenda.
Bossier City Mayor Responds to Judge Self’s Ruling
Mayor Chandler says:
“ I did not bring the suit, I appreciate Judge Self’s timely response to the case and I am proud that the Citizens of Bossier will have an opportunity for their voices to be heard on the issue of Term Limits."
The Term Limits Coalition is up against a tight deadline to try to get this matter on the December ballot. Cassie Mae Rogers filed this lawsuit against the City of Bossier to force action on the petition.
No word yet how much this legal fight will cost the city for the attorneys who were hired to fight this lawsuit.
