Airline High School and Their Bossier Campus Evacuated This Afternoon

UPDATE (1:03PM): Bossier Parish Public Schools sent a release to parents and guardians just after 1pm that said: "AHS parents/guardians, After a thorough sweep, law enforcement has given Airline High School the all-clear and students are returning to class. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we worked with authorities to ensure your child's safety."

ORIGINAL STORY (12:30PM): A major disruption hit a Bossier City high school today following a security threat. Officials with Bossier Parish Public Schools confirmed an evacuation at  Airline High School. They have also confirmed that a bomb threat was called into the school...forcing an immediate halt to all scheduled activities.

Administrators enacted emergency protocols, and evacuated all individuals from the campus buildings. Students and staff were relocated to the outdoor football field, while emergency responders secured the surrounding area to conduct a sweep of the property.

Emergency Response Locks Down School Grounds

Law enforcement and investigators arrived on the scene to search the facility for hazards. During this active sweep...school representatives stated that parents were not permitted to check out their children from the premises.

The situation left the campus closed to outside visitors while authorities worked systematically to clear the structures. School administration indicated they would provide further updates to the public once the local police department issued an all-clear signal for the facility.

Important Dates For Airline High School

Today is an important date on the Airline High School calendar, as it is the final day for the class of 2026. Seniors were to finish final exams today, and get their caps and gowns. They were scheduled to be released early.

Final exams are scheduled for today at Airline, along with being an AP test day for English Literature and Physics at Airline High School. LEAP Testing is scheduled to being at the school tomorrow.

Although no statements have been made by the school to confirm if any of these activities are related to the threat in any way.
