Bossier - Webster Parish District Attorney Schuyler Marvin talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the impending release of more than 1,000 prisoners from state and parish prisons and jails. Termed "non-violent" under the state's new early release program, Marvin criticizes the lack of funding of promised programs to aid freed offenders.

Marvin tells KEEL listeners that "a plan from a very liberal think tank was adopted" and that plan "got off track" from the very beginning. The DA also addresses concerns - citizens and his own - about the extremely high recidivism rate in states that have implemented similar legislation.
