Katie Theriot, Director of Business development with the Bossier City Chamber of Commerce, talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about Small Business Week, which runs from May 1-5.

From the Bossier Chamber's website:

National Small Business Week 2018 kicks off at the end of this month, April 29-May 5, and is an annual event hosted by the U.S. Small Business Administration. Created over 50 years ago, National Small Business Week recognizes the nation’s top small businesses, entrepreneurs, small business advocates and champions. Small businesses have always been the backbone of any economy, and we know that the success of America’s small businesses is critical to growing the economy and increasing competitiveness.

To assist small businesses and would-be-entrepreneurs across the area, the Bossier Chamber has a series of events and seminars planned at a number of locations.

More from the Chamber's site:

To garner attention for this national movement, the Bossier Chamber of Commerce has partnered with the Bossier Parish Central Library and other business development organizations to bring to you our very own Small Business Week right here in Bossier-Shreveport! With more than 80% of our business members representing small businesses, it is crucial that our community rally behind the businesses that contribute so much to the local economy. We want small businesses to have the support they need to do what they do best: grow and create jobs.
