[UPDATE, Feb. 25th, 2014] The water boil advisory for the area along Benton Road between Old Minden and Benton Spur has been lifted.

The Department of Health and Hospitals has conducted tests on water samples, and they've come back negative for contaminants. Work to replace a water main in the area is complete.

[ORIGINAL STORY, Feb. 3rd, 2014]  Another boil advisory has been issued for part of Bossier City. City crews are repairing a water main break on Benton Road between Old Minden and Benton Spur, and that'll cause a loss of water pressure.

Most businesses in that area will be affected, including the Heart 'O Bossier Shopping Center. The advisory doesn't include Fast Eddie's Billiards, McDonald's on Benton Road, or Posado's Restaurant.

The advisory is a precautionary measure and recommends those in the affected area to voluntarily boil their water before consuming it until the health department can test the water.

The advisory pertains only to water used for consumption. This is a boil advisory, not a boil order.  The city will notify the media when the advisory is lifted.

This latest advisory comes just after one issued for the Central Park area was lifted.
