An early-morning fire leaves a two-story Queensborough home heavily damaged.

Shreveport firefighters arrived just after 3AM to find heavy flames coming from the back of a house in the 3300 block of W. Caperton Street. The flames extended 30 feet above the roof.

Fire Captain G. Roan called in a second alarm to have additional equipment and manpower sent out to battle the blaze. It took 21 units nearly an hour to bring the fire under control.

The homeowner escaped to safety as firefighters were arriving. No injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
