Shreveport Firefighters Battle Two-Story House Fire
On Thursday, November 30, 2023, at 6:37 PM, the Shreveport Fire Department (SFD) received a 911 call reporting a house on fire in the 1600 block of Creswell Avenue.
The first SFD unit arrived on scene within four minutes and began an interior fire attack within the two-story vacant house.
Firefighters worked tirelessly to extinguish the fire to the point where the incident commander requested two additional engines for extra support and relief. After over an hour of fighting the fire from the inside, a defensive, or exterior only, attack was ordered. This included the use of a ladder truck to douse the flames.
It took the efforts of twenty-seven firefighters operating ten units to bring the fire under control at 9:02 PM. The full extent of the damage and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. No injuries to citizens or firefighters were reported.
