Longview’s Guitar-themed Water Tower Competes for National Tank Of The Year Title
Bossier City has been a winner before and now Longview, Texas is in the running in the water tank of the year competition.
The water tower in Longview in the running is a newly painted tower that celebrates the town’s vibrant arts and cultural scene with a newly painted 1-million-gallon water tower.
If you have never seen this one, it features a guitar, musical motifs, and the slogan “Enjoy the View!” The design reflects Longview’s museums, local festivals, and creative spirit. Longview city leaders say the tank’s colorful exterior will stay bright and protected for years to come, perfectly capturing the energy of East Texas.
I was hoping one of the newly painted Shreveport water towers would be in the running, but we didn’t make the cut. But we can still vote for a tower in the region for the win. The Longview water tower is competing for National Tank of the Year. Public voting is open right now through October 16.
The winner of the Tank of the Year competition will be announced on October 23, 2026. If Longview wins, the city will get some national recognition and a prominent spot on a featured calendar.
While the Shreveport’s newly painted towers are not in the running for top tower, we do have two towers in the running for a people’s choice award. You can click here to vote for the Shreveport towers.
