Several local teams will stay at home for round one of the football playoffs. Here are the matchups:

Airline is at home to take on East St. John
Parkway hosts Live Oak
Haughton is on the road at Ouachita Christian
Byrd will be at Lee Hedges to battle Natchitoches Central

4A
Huntington at Vanderbilt Catholic
Woodlawn is at Teurlings Catholic
Northwood on the road at Washington Marion

3A
North Desoto hosts West Feliciana
Bossier is at home to take on Sumner

2A
North Webster at Kinder
BTW at Episcopal
Homer at home to play Riverside
Calvary plays host to Isadore Newman
Evangel is at home to play Capitol of BR

Here are the local teams still in the playoff hunt: 5A Rummel at Byrd. The Yellow Jackets have the home field advantage. The game is being held at Lee Hedges on Friday night. Rummel has had two tough playoff wins…..moving on by only 3 points in each game. I have to stick with the Jackets [...]

Byrd Beats West Monroe!!

Lee Hedges stadium was rocking as the Byrd Yellow Jackets came out to play against top ranked West Monroe. Not since 2002 have the Jackets beaten the Rebels, but that ended Thursday night. Byrd’s defense played tough all night. Steven Soloman, Chad Cotton and Will Anglin are just some of the guys leading that effort. [...]
