Today the the Federal Aviation Administration informed the Shreveport Airport Authority that the air traffic control tower at the Shreveport Downtown Airport (DTN) will remain open until further notice. This good news hold true for 148 other control towers nationwide that will also remain open.

After deliberating for 15 hours, jurors have reached a verdict in the murder trial of Jodi Arias. On Wednesday (May 8), the jury convicted the 32-year-old Arias of first-degree murder in the 2008 death of her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander of Phoenix, Arizona.

Did you know that in the period from the early to mid-1900s, downtown Shreveport was home to three passenger train terminals? Most cities our size were home to one…if they were lucky. In addition to the three downtown passenger stops, there was a freight terminal, an “A” frame bridge that is one of only two in the country, and so many hotels and boarding houses built for train passengers you couldn’t throw a conductor’s cap without hitting one.
