YMCA Director Gary Lash Talks Current Programs, Upcoming Plans

Shreveport YMCA Director Gary Lash talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the latest news from the facility, including current programs and plans to expand the Preston Street plant.

Lash tells KEEL listeners about upcoming events, including the recent YMCA Sanctioned Championship Swim Meet. Lash points out these events bring numerous visitors from across the South to the Shreveport area, and how becoming part of the multi-billion dollar youth sports travel industry is a major financial boon to the region.

Lash also talks about plans to expand the facility westward on Preston with a new, hundred acre nature center. Lash adds that interest in the proposed facility has also been expressed by the Audubon Society and biology departments at a number of area universities.
