In the runoff election to determine who would take over as City Marshal in Shreveport, James Jefferson is the winner. He has been serving as interim Marshal since the tragic death of Charlie Caldwell last year.

Jefferson beat Republican Shreveport City Councilman Grayson Boucher with 59 percent of the vote to 41%. Only about 18,000 people cast ballots in the election.
