CADDO PARISH, LA- West 70th Street gunshot victim named

The name of Shreveport's latest homicide victim has been released by the Caddo Parish Coroner's office.

Artavious Prim, 17, was shot in the 800 block of West 70th Street around 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2024. He was taken to Ochsner LSU Health hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The slaying, which remains under investigation by Shreveport police, is the 27th homicide in Caddo Parish and the 24th inside the city in 2024 to date.

He was positively identified through fingerprint comparison.
