Great Places in North Louisiana to See Fall Foliage
SHREVEPORT, LA - I am starting to feel things change during the early morning hours these days. It is not so crazy hot and humid as I head to work each morning. Now, it still gets hot during the day, but I can tell it won't be long and we will be seeing some of that amazing fall weather we all love around here.
When Can We Expect to See Leaves Changing Colors?
It takes a lot longer for this to happen in the south, but the experts are predicting we should see the beginning of this during the week of October 23. But the colors will start to get quite spectacular during the first couple of weeks in November.
There is some concern that the drought conditions of this summer could have an impact on this change and we might see color changes a little bit earlier. But I would not hold my breath on that.
If you are anxious to see fall foliage sooner, you might want to get moving on a trip to the northeast or Midwest. Colors typically change in places like Wisconsin and Vermont in late September.
The Farmers Almanac says some states could actually see their peak for fall colors in just a couple of weeks. This includes New York, Montana and Vermont. The report says other states like Utah, Colorado and Pennsylvania should peak in early October.
