Louisiana State Treasurer John Schroder talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the economic effects of the Coronavirus on state coffers.

Schroder tells KEEL listeners that state government is fully funded for the current budget, but because of the still unknown effects of the virus on Louisiana's businesses, it's almost impossible to make concrete plans for the next fiscal year.

The Treasurer adds that he, legislators and department heads throughout state government are looking for alternate funding sources, including the possible use of last year's $100 million budget surplus.
