
Traffic Stop Leads to Convicted Felon Arrested with a Firearm

On September 29th, 2023, around 3:15 a.m. proactive Shreveport Police Patrol officers conducted a traffic stop at 200 North Common Street in reference to a traffic violation. During the traffic stop officers contacted the driver Hakeem Phipps (1-30-98). Officers conducted a search of the vehicle locating a firearm and narcotics.
Further investigation into the matter revealed that Phipps was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to being a convicted felon for prior felony offenses. He was arrested on one count of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and one count of possession of Schedule one with intent to distribute. The firearms and narcotics were seized as evidence.
We are required to advise that all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
