No, it's not the Zombie Apocolypse...but the zombies WILL be roaming downtown Shreveport Saturday afternoon. Local "Zombie Queen" Michelle McCrary says the Shreveport Zombie Walk is to benefit the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana. It's normally held at Mall St. Vincent, but at the urging of the Shreveport Downtown Development Authority's Liz Swaine, it's been relocated to the downtown area.  McCrary says the event is a win-win for everyone involved -- a chance for participants to dress up in their scariest zombie attire for an early Halloween celebration (a bit early)...and an opportunity to collect donations for the food bank. All you have to do to participate is show up at McNeil Street at 4 o'clock Saturday afternoon -- with some non-perishable food items. McCrary says she's got lots of great door prizes, and prizes for best costumes, to give away after the walk is done. She says last year's event raised about 800 pounds of food...and she's expecting at least 1,000 pounds this year.

If dressing up, or showing up to take a look at the zombie creations, isn't enough entertainment for you, local band The Moulin Dudes will be performing twice -- once AT the event, and again starting at 11 p.m. at Mojo's. It's important to have a sense of humor if you go to this show...because these four guys will have on their hottest chick-zombie attire -- and will be singing all your favorite female pop songs. They always draw a big crowd and put on a fun, high-energy show that will have you laughing for weeks! You don't want to miss it!
