A temporary employee at Lawler Auction Group was arrested today for stealing cash money from the company and altering her time sheets, according to Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

Brittany Gaudet, 26, of Shreveport, was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for felony theft and forgery following an investigation by Caddo Sheriff's Detective Bobby Herring.

Gaudet was hired as an office assistant and stole $500 in cash payments received from Lawler’s customers.  Gaudet attempted to conceal the thefts by issuing receipts and logging the payments in a voucher book.

Gaudet also altered and forged time sheets to reflect 26 hours of time she didn't work.  She then faxed the time sheets to her temporary employment service, which in turn billed Lawler Auction Company.

The total amount of the thefts was $862.
