State Highways Boss Comments On Gas Tax Fail [VIDEO]
Dr. Shawn Wilson, Secretary of Louisiana's Department of Transportation and Development, talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the proposed gas tax increase not even making it to the floor of the State Senate for a vote.
The increase, which would have called for a seventeen cent per gallon increase, was described by Wilson as "a heavy lift". The Secretary, a proponent of the increase, also tells KEEL listeners that operating under the current budget, agrees with the contention that Louisianans are lucky to have the roads they have.
