Going to the Camping World Independence Bowl this afternoon? Here's what you need to know to keep yourself and others safe.

Here are some rules set forth by stadium officials to ensure that the Independence Bowl will be safe for all patrons:

No outside food or drink will be allowed in the stadium.
No ice chests will be allowed in the stadium.
No umbrellas will be allowed in the stadium.
No oversized bags will be allowed in the stadium (bags must fit in a 12”x 12” box).
No mace/pepper spray will be allowed in the stadium.
No TASERs or stun guns will be allowed in the stadium.
No pocket tools will be allowed in the stadium.
No straight blades will be allowed in the stadium.
No video cameras will be allowed in the stadium.
No laser pointers/lights will be allowed in the stadium.
No weapons will be allowed in the stadium.

Shreveport police also remind you to take advantage of the shuttle service that will start at 10 a.m. on game day and run until one hour after the game is over. The shuttle pick-up locations are at Mall St. Vincent and Pierre Bossier Mall. They cost $5 per adult round trip. Children under 12 ride for free. Remember that anything you carry on the shuttles must be small enough to fit in a 12" by 12" box.

A limited number of reserved parking spaces adjacent to Independence Stadium are available for $25 each through the bowl office by calling (318) 221-0712 or toll-free at (888) 414-BOWL (2695). Cash-only parking lots are available around the State Fairgrounds and will be open on game day. Parking in these lots is $15.

For visitors traveling into Shreveport via I-20, there are three exits that will get you to Independence Stadium: Greenwood Road, Hearne Avenue and Jewella Avenue. DOTD dynamic message signs on I-20 will give you directions to the stadium, along with other information pertaining to the game.

Current laws prohibit smoking inside the stadium, but anyone seeking to smoke will be allowed to exit the stadium. A hole will be punched in their tickets and their hands will be stamped. Smoking is prohibited within 25 feet of any stadium gate. This law will be enforced by officers working the game.

Fans should follow all the directions on the back of their ticket.

Uniformed Shreveport police officers will be working both inside and outside Independence Stadium to maintain a safe environment for attendees.
