SPD Chief: If Your Crowd’s Too Big You Will Be Cited [VIDEO]
Shreveport Police Chief Ben Raymond talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about his department's newly formed "task force," a group of officers whose job it is to enforce the Governor's Coronavirus social-limiting mandates.
The Chief tells KEEL listeners that the SPD is partnering with Crimestoppers to field calls from citizens reporting what they think are violations of John Bel Edwards' no-more-than-ten declaration.
Raymond adds that the SPD will actually be handing out citations to crowds over the limit, saying that it was the initial plan of the officers to give out warnings, "but we're kind of moving part that now." The Chief adds, "But the point now is, if you've been educated and you continue to violate (the rule), well, now it's egregious."
