It's frustrating to be the pest on this subject, but I guess someone has to do it. For weeks, all of the street lights on I-20 between Greenwood and Jewella have been out.

I notified city leaders about the issue. Last week, I got an email saying the problem was fixed. Well I checked Monday and they were all still out. Public Works Director Mike Wood said crews would be back out in the area making the repairs.

So, early on Tuesday, I checked the lights again. Here's what I found:

The city has made some progress, but there is apparently something seriously wrong. I spotted the crews up there during the lunch hour. It looked like they were checking the lines. Wood tells me Swepco crews have also been notified about the problem.

With the State Fair scheduled to begin on October 26th, I sure hope they can get to the bottom of the problem.
