Shreveport Police Arrest Teen for Shooting and Killing 15 Year-Old
Shreveport Police have made an arrest in connection with a tragic murder on Parkhurst Drive last Tuesday.
Last Tuesday evening SPD got a call about a shooting. When they showed up to the scene, they found a 15 year-old young man who had been shot. The teen was rushed to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Detectives with SPD's Violent Crimes Unit started a thorough investigation. They were able to find out that a fight between neighbors erupted in gunfire between multiple people.
The investigation determined that a 14 year-old was responsible for the shooting death. The suspect was arrested and booked in to the Caddo Parish Juvenile Detention Center on one count of manslaughter.
Police Chief Wayne Smith had this to say:
“This is a deeply tragic incident that has left a profound impact on our community. We extend our condolences to the family of the young victim and remain committed to pursuing justice and peace in our neighborhoods.”
Due to the age of the suspect no more information regarding identification is available.
From SPD:
"The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact the Shreveport Police Department or submit a tip anonymously through Caddo-Shreveport Crime Stoppers at (318) 673-7373."
