Shreveport Teen Sentenced to Life in Prison for Murder
A defendant in the case following the murder of 17 year-old Deanthony Walker back in 2022 has been sentenced to life.
Walker was walking home from school back in January of 2022 when a black Kia Soul pulled up and stopped in the road. When the car was stopped, 19 year-old Eric Dewayne Green got out of the car and shot at walker 17 times with a 9mm handgun. Others in the car started shooting at walker as well.
Once Walker fell to the ground another person in the car ran up to Walker and shot him at point-blank range. Walker was found dead at the scene, and Police started their investigation.
SPD found the Kia 2 days later, and after a high-speed chase followed by a foot chase they were able to catch who was in the car and arrest them. During an interview, the driver of the car told Police that he had witnessed the murder and named Green as one of the shooters.
Police then arrested Green and found the weapon he used at one of the co-defendant's homes. Green's DNA was found in the stolen Kia, and his phone location put him at the scene of the crime 2 days earlier. Green is the first of 3 defendants tried for this murder.
Green had his day in court, and was sentenced to life in prison that must be served without benefit of probation or suspension of sentence
