Over the weekend, Shreveport Police Department DWI Unit officers conducted a traffic stop near Stoner Avenue and Youree Drive.
During the investigation, officers determined Shelley Henry from Texas was allegedly impaired by alcohol and narcotics. She resisted officers while being taken into custody.
Officers reportedly found two different types of Schedule II controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, open alcoholic beverages and a weapon from the vehicle. Possession of the weapon was prohibited due to the presence of the drugs in the car.
Henry was arrested and charged with:
· Two counts of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance
· Possession of drug paraphernalia
· Resisting an officer
· Illegal carrying of a weapon
· Reckless operation
· Possession of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle
· Improper lane usage
· Failure to signal
Henry was taken to Shreveport City Jail and was booked on the list of charges above. Shreveport Police take drinking and driving very seriously, and have beefed-up their patrols to keep drunk drivers off the streets.
