A veteran Shreveport police officer has been arrested in Texas on a DWI charge. Shreveport police were notified that Sergeant Justin White had been arrested over the weekend on a DWI charge in east Texas.

At the time of the incident, Sergeant White was off duty and operating his  personal vehicle. After being notified of the arrest, Chief Wayne Smith immediately placed Sergeant White on administrative leave pending the outcome of this investigation.

White was arrested by Texas Parks and Wildlife agents and booked into the Harrison County Jail.

Sergeant White has been employed with the Shreveport Police Department since 2004.

The department holds its officers to the highest standards of conduct, both on and off duty. This matter remains under investigation, and no further details have been released.
