SHREVEPORT, LA-  Shreveport Police DWI checkpoint netsresults

Shreveport Police held a DWI checkpoint Friday, August 25, 2023, from 9 p.m. through August 26, 2023, at 3:00 a.m. in the 300 block of North Market St. (Northbound Lanes.)

Shreveport Police officers screened 515 vehicles, resulting in 3 misdemeanors and 1 Felony arrest for DWI. In addition, 166 citations were issued. Listed below are the arrests at the checkpoint.

B/M John Rochelle 14:98.2 DWI 2nd (Refused)

B/M Torian Brocks 14:98.1 DWI 1st (Refused)

B/M Marcus Williams 14:98.3 DWI 3rd (Refused)

The checkpoint was part of a collaborative effort between Louisiana State Police and Shreveport Police to emphasize our commitment to making the streets of Shreveport safe for everyone.

Funding for the checkpoint is provided by a grant from the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission as part of the continuing effort to help curb the number of impaired drivers who take to the streets each year in our community.

The once very popular Shreveport Holiday Inn Holidome turned, Ramada was once the place to be for folks traveling through Shreveport Airport. The great Holidome sat on Financial Plaza in Shreveport for many years, and was considered a great place to spend your layover or delayed flight. Now the property is in total disarray with garbage littering the parking lot, and the (pretty hilarious) sheet-rope hanging out of a broken top-floor window.
