Shreveport Police Arrest Convicted Felon During Fight

SHREVEPORT, LA- Another convicted felon is arrested after a fight when police discover on of the men has a handgun. On July 17, 2023, around 7:52 p.m. Shreveport Police Patrol officers were called to a dispute in the 9000 block of Mansfield Road. Upon arrival, officers found that two men were fighting, and one was armed with a handgun. Officers detained those involved and found that the armed man was Ahmad King (3-27-86). Family members were reportedly trying to take the gun from King.

Further investigation into the matter revealed that King was prohibited from possessing a firearm due to being a convicted felon for prior felony offenses. King was arrested on one count of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

The firearm was seized as evidence.

We are required to advise that all suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
