Stay Cool As Temperatures Soar In Shreveport This Week
It’s time to start talking about summer heat. In fact, a heat advisory is in place for the Shreveport area for Friday. The National Weather Service says we should see high temperatures in the mid 90’s, but the heat index is expected to climb to somewhere between 105 and 109 degrees. It’s going to be a very hot day. You will also feel the humidity as we head into the weekend.
This heat advisory includes all of northwest Louisiana, much of southwest Arkansas and all of northeast Texas.
What Should You Do to Avoid Being Overcome by the Heat?
You are urged to take precautions to protect yourself from being outside too long in this blistering heat. You should be sure to stay hydrated and take frequent breaks if you must be outside over the next couple of days. You should also wear light-colored, loose-fitting, breathable clothing.
These hot temps over the next day could cause some heat related illnesses.
